COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Coty McMahon had a career-high 33 points and 12 rebounds as No. 18 Ohio State beat No. 2 Iowa 100-92 in overtime on Sunday, despite Hawkeyes superstar Kaitlin Clark’s 45 points. .

The Buckeyes (15-3, 6-1) trailed by 12 points in regulation but forced an extra period, tied at 83.

Clark scored all nine of Iowa’s overtime points. Rebecca Mikulsikova’s 3-pointer gave Ohio State a six-point lead with 1:14 remaining in overtime. A basket by McMahon and four final free throws by Jesse Sheldon sealed the victory and fans came out of the stands to celebrate on the court.

The Buckeyes’ win snapped the Hawkeyes’ (18-2, 7-1 Big Ten) 15-game winning streak.

Ohio State: A signature win for the Buckeyes that would give them a big boost into the AP Top 25.
