Holly Springs, Miss. (AP) – Two people have been taken into custody as part of an investigation into the abandonment of an infant girl found behind a trash can in Mississippi last week, authorities said.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said on social media that two people were arrested Friday, without providing further details.

The newborn baby was found Wednesday bundled in several blankets in a car seat behind a dumpster at the Grove of Cass Mobile Home Park near the Tennessee border, the sheriff’s office said.

The child was taken to the hospital and is in good condition, officials said Friday.

The mobile home park is about 35 miles (56 kilometers) southeast of Memphis.
