Stage Musical ‘The Queen of Versailles’ Starring Kristin Chenoweth Will Swoon Boston This Summer

NEW YORK (AP) — Tourists visiting Boston this summer will get a treat: a stage show that reunites the singer-actor Kristin Chenoweth with him “Wicked” Songwriter Stephen Schwartz.

Chenoweth will play socialite Jacqueline “Jackie” Siegel in the live adaptation of the 2012 documentary film “The Queen of Versailles.” The world premiere of the musical will take place here Emerson Colonial Theater From July 16 to August. 18.

Ticket sales for the general public will begin on February 28.

The musical will show how Seagal and her billionaire husband, David “The Timeshare King” Seagal, planned to build America’s largest private home in Orlando, Florida, a $100 million home inspired by the Versailles Palace in France. The couple’s plans were dashed due to the 2008 recession and they later lost a teenage daughter to excessive drinking.

The producers say the musical “explores the true price of fame, fortune and family.” He hopes it can make it to Broadway after a tryout in Boston.

Chenoweth earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical playing Glinda in “Wicked.” She previously won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Academy Award winning actor F. Murray will play Abraham Siegel’s husband and other cast members include Melody Buteau and Nina White. Story by Lindsay Ferentino and direction Tony Award winner Michael Arden, Who led the recent Broadway revival of “Parade.”
