SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A bat fell on the court after Victor Wembanyama made a 3-pointer two minutes into the San Antonio Spurs’ 113-112 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night and the game was delayed.

The Spurs’ mascot, The Coyote, captured the bat from the net after several unsuccessful attempts, much to the delight of Wembanyama and Spurs teammate Jeremy Sochan.

The Coyote had previously knocked down two bats, while former Spurs star Manu Ginobili knocked another bat out onto the court with his bare hands in November 2009.

Whenever the bat hit the court, the Spurs scattered, except for Sochan, who Popovich had to pull back at one point. Others went into hiding, like Keldon Johnson.

“I know my lane,” Johnson said. “Like, I’m really afraid of the dark… So, bats? It’s like, no, this isn’t really my limit. I was more scared. ,

Wembanyama scored nine points in the next two minutes. The French rookie finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
