CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — No. 4 Florida State may have to turn to third-string quarterback Brock Glenn to start the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game against 15th-ranked Louisville on Saturday night.
Tate Rodemaker, making his second career start with the team Regular season finale at Florida, has been limited in practice this week while recovering from the injury. This is another potential blow at the QB position for the Seminoles, who appear to be one win away from making the College Football Playoff.
Rodemaker left the game briefly in the fourth quarter after suffering a head injury while sliding, a targeting call that resulted in an ejection. He returned a few plays later and passed to Trey Benson for a game-sealing touchdown run in FSU’s 24–15 victory.
Seminoles coach Mike Norvell said in a news conference for two ACC coaches on Friday that Rodemaker passed an on-field concussion test Saturday night but showed symptoms a day later. Rodemaker is able to participate in parts of practice, but Glenn gets the bulk of the work leading up to the game.
“It’s going to be something that continues up until game day and we’ll continue our evaluation process and see where it goes from there,” Norvell said.

Rodemaker completed 12 of 25 passes for 134 yards against the Gators. Rodemaker replaced Heisman Trophy candidate and ACC Player of the Year Jordan Travis a week before Travis suffered a season-ending injury to his left foot against North Alabama.
Now the Seminoles may switch QBs again.
Norvell said, “There’s not much need to change in the game plan. It’s the same thing we faced a week ago, when we were playing our last regular season game. We knew (Glenn) was going to be a Had been.” Play away. He had to be prepared for that situation, and he was ready.”
Glenn, a freshman, has played in only three games this season and completed only two passes for 35 yards in mop-up duty against North Alabama. The Seminoles would certainly love to bring back Rodemaker, but they’ll have to clear some hurdles before getting the nod.
“We know the process we have to go through and there are certain criteria that we’ll go through and see as we get closer to game day or game time, and we’ll see where he’s at,” Norvell said. “But they are all ready and if their turn comes, they will be ready.”
