France has promised to send up to 3 billion euros of military aid to Ukraine this year

PARIS (Reuters) – France and Ukraine signed a bilateral security deal on Friday that will see Paris give the Kiwis up to 3 billion euros this year to deliver more weapons, train troops and help the country in its war against Russia. This includes a promise to send military aid. Elysee said.

The French president said the agreement signed by Emmanuel Macron and his counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky includes a pledge by France to provide 3 billion euros ($3.24 billion) of additional military aid to Ukraine in 2024.

In the agreement, which follows similar deals Kiev made with Britain and Germany, France has also promised to provide more military equipment, particularly for air defence.

France, along with other partners, will also help Ukraine make its defense capabilities “increasingly interoperable with NATO,” the Elysee said, adding: “This will include the development of a modern defense sector in Ukraine and a future in NATO.” “
