Russia launches new missile attack on Kiev, other cities of Ukraine

KIEV (Reuters) – Russia launched a new missile attack on Ukraine’s capital Kiev and other cities on Thursday, officials said, prompting Ukrainian air defenses to repel it.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko urged residents to stay in shelters. Reuters witnesses reported multiple explosions in different parts of Kiev.

Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovy reported hearing explosions in the western city near Ukraine’s border with Poland.

An air alert was declared for the entire country of Ukraine.
