Rapper Killer Mike detained by police after collecting 3 trophies at Grammy Awards

one in video posted According to trade website The Hollywood Reporter, Mike was escorted in handcuffs by Los Angeles police to the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday after some happy moments at the Grammys premiere ceremony, where he won his awards in quick succession.

A police spokesperson did not provide a name or additional details, but confirmed that a black male was detained.

A representative for Mike’s did not immediately respond to emails or text messages requesting comment.

“The only thing that limits your age is not being truthful about your age or what you’re doing,” Mike, 48, said backstage. He won awards for Best Rap Performance, Rap Song and Rap Album.

“At 20, I thought it was cool to be a drug dealer,” he said. β€œAt 40, I started living with regrets and the things I had done. At 45, I started rapping about it. At the age of 48, I stand here as a man who is full of empathy and compassion for what I have done.”

Mike’s first win came after winning Best Rap Performance for “Scientists and Engineers”, which also won Best Rap Song. The single features Andre 3000, Future and Erin Allen Kane.

He won Best Rap Album for “Michael”.

Before Sunday, Mike’s last Grammy came in 2003 when he won the award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “The Whole World.”

When he received his third award, the Atlanta-based rapper yelled “Sweep!” Atlanta, it’s a sweep!”

As a member of Run the Jewels, mikeWith producer El-P, he released four critically acclaimed albums. He made noise outside of music as a socio-political activist who spoke out against inequality, race relations for black people and became a vocal supporter of it.
