Brazil, France launch $1.1 billion investment program focused on Amazon rainforest

SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Brazil and France on Tuesday announced the launch of an investment program of 1 billion euros ($1.08 billion) in private and public funds over the next four years in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and Guyana, according to a joint statement. .

The announcement was made during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the South American country.
